Dr. Manjunath S V, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, BMS College of Engineering. He is currently working as faculty of masters program in Environmental Engineering. Having obtained his PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, he was subsequently awarded with an Institute PDF fellowship upon the fulfilment of his doctoral studies at IIT Madras. His expertise traverses an expansive domain encompassing the development of novel technologies for water and wastewater treatment. He delves into various treatment techniques such as electrocatalysis, sonocatalysis, photocatalysis, and microwave degradation, with a focus on eliminating emerging contaminants. His research also includes modeling complex multi-pollutant sorption processes for the removal of micropollutants, heavy metals, dyes and nutrients from aqueous systems. Additionally, he works on waste management strategies, waste valorization into resources, and industrial waste treatment. With over twelve years of combined experience in research and teaching, he has authored twenty four SCI-indexed journal publications, contributed five book chapters, participated in nineteen international peer-reviewed conferences, and holds two granted patents. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Award for Outstanding Research Publication by VGST, Government of Karnataka, Prof. T. P. Halappa Gowda Endowment Award, First Rank Gold Medal in M.Tech. and multiple fellowships. Beyond academic pursuits, he is contributing to the scientific field by functioning as a peer-reviewer for several prestigious international journals from Nature, Elsevier, Springer, Wiley etc.
